Intellectual Property Summary

The article is titled, “Do Students Respect Intellectual Property?” This question can not be easily answered. Students obviously do not intend to disrespect intellectual property, and neither do their teachers. However, with so much confusion in relation to the laws both students and teachers are guilty of making mistakes when it comes to using someone else’s intellectual property. What then results is a vicious cycle of ignorance. Even if the teacher inadvertently violates someone’s intellectual property rights the students entrusted to them will likely only follow suit. It is the teacher’s responsibility to provide all due respect to intellectual property.

  1. Great response to the video. I do think students and teachers take it to far with intellectual property. So many students are using things in class with out permission and teachers are not show them the right way to get the copyright.
